Pep Guardiola urged City to look to heed the learnings and quickly respond to the disappointment of Saturday’s 2-0 Premier League derby loss at Manchester United.

Second half goals from Bryan Mbeumo and Patrick Dorgu were enough to see the 198th Manchester derby bragging rights go United’s way.

It proved a frustrating afternoon all round for the Blues with our best chance coming in the first half when a Max Alleyne header was cleared off the line.

The loss left us in second place, six points off leaders Arsenal who play at Nottingham Forest later on Saturday.

For the boss, it was a case of seeking to digest the lessons and quickly get back to winning ways.

“We are not consistent with results but for the performances I have been satisfied,” Guardiola reflected.

“It was not enough today but for the previous games yes it was enough.

“We didn’t make the previous games because of what we miss up front.

“It’s not about not running and not trying, I know them .

“Sometimes, at 12.30 on a Saturday one team is better than the other one. You have to accept it

“Many players come here with City shirt and they need these things to grow.”
