Fresh from being named in the Euro 2024 Team of the Tournament this summer, the Swiss international scored the decisive penalty in our curtain-raiser win over Manchester United in the Community Shield one month later.

An ever-present so far this season, Akanji chats through his matchday routine (including games of Uno with Kyle Walker) as well as the influence that Guardiola has had on his game since he joined City in 2022.

Speaking of the boss, he reveals who he believes will offer the biggest challenge in this year’s title race, as well as his thoughts on the success of Spanish managers across the footballing landscape.
