Pep Guardiola says City look to get the most out of set pieces in every match we play.

City scored from a corner in last weekend’s draw with Liverpool after an innovative quick routine left John Stones unmarked at the near post.

Ahead of this weekend’s visit of Newcastle United in the quarter-final of the FA Cup, Guardiola says City are always examining how we can exploit weaknesses in the opposition.

Pep delivers injury update

The boss insists it’s not unusual to step away from the conventional in order to try to turn corners and free-kicks into better opportunities.

“Every game we try to apply, sometimes it works and happens,” he said in Friday’s press conference.

“But every game, tomorrow will be the same, we’ll figure out what we can do from corner and free-kicks if we can punish them.”

“Every club does it and tries to do it.”
