Pep Guardiola says he’s really pleased with what he’s seen of Omar Marmoush so far.

The Egyptian forward joined from Eintracht Frankfurt on Thursday and was straight into Guardiola’s starting lineup for Saturday’s 3-1 Premier League victory over Chelsea.

He played 74 minutes in an advanced role before he was replaced by Kevin De Bruyne.

Speaking in his post-match press conference, Guardiola was asked to summarise what he had seen from his new No.7.

“It was not easy. [Reece] James was there man marking,” he began.

“When James is fit he is so strong and so fast. But he made incredible runs and movement.

“He [Marmoush] is a calm guy and he has pace, he can shoot, he’s intelligent at defending. I am really pleased with what I have seen so far.”
