A Julian Alvarez brace, Phil Foden strike and an own goal saw the European Champions cruise to a 4-0 win over Fluminense in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
The victory not only secured a fifth major honour in 2023, but also saw City break new ground as the first English club to hold the Premier League, FA Cup, UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup and Club World Cup at the same time.
The triumph also saw Guardiola become the most successful manager in the competition’s history, with his fourth triumph seeing him surpass Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti’s record.

But the City boss admits that his latest Club World Cup triumph is just as special as the last, and is confident that his players will savour the triumph for many years to come.
“All of them are special… [but] the last one is special because Manchester City had never participated in it, the first time we did it and that gives us incredible satisfaction.
“It’s a trophy where we won’t do a parade in Manchester, but I said to the players ‘this trophy, you will remember forever’.
“It’s a trophy which means you’re the best team for one year in the world. That’s something that’s unique and special. It’s really, really cool.”
