Pep Guardiola says City’s positive mindset and attitude are once again proving a key element in the wake of Saturday’s 2-0 win over Everton.

The Etihad victory made it 10 successive wins in all competitions for the Treble winners and world champions.

An Erling Haaland brace further added to the feel-good factor surrounding the Club with the games now coming thick and fast across the league, FA Cup and Champions League which resumes on Tuesday with our last-16 first leg trip to FC Copenhagen.

Reflecting on this latest success over Sean Dyche’s dogged Everton, the City boss highlighted the positive mindset of his players as one of the defining factors driving the side’s renewed quest for success.

“Positivity makes you perform better. If you feel sorry for yourself nothing happens,” Guardiola pointed out.

“I wanted to see how the players reacted after Treble but since day one I didn’t have doubts. Phil [Foden] has played better than last season. Julian [Alvarez] played more than last season.

“I see the team every day and in my opinion it’s fresher, better.

“I love to win these types of games because we learn the lesson for what is coming.

“The Champions League is there and [then] Chelsea is next week.

“The feeling of the team on the day one after winning the Treble [was there] and I like what I watch.

“That doesn’t mean we’re going to win but I like it.”
