Pep Guardiola praised another perfect game of patience from City after our superb 2-0 win away at Leicester on our return to Premier League action.

Just as in our FA Cup quarter-final win at Everton a fortnight ago, City had to bide our time before making the breakthrough thanks to Benjamin Mendy’s fine 58th minute strike.

Gabriel Jesus then struck on 74 minutes to seal victory and reflecting on the win, the boss said that quality was a vital part of our overall armoury.

“We had a goal disallowed, hit the crossbar with Kevin. It was quite a similar game to Everton. We were patient, don’t concede set pieces,” Guardiola reflected.

“Be patient and attack in the right moments. We cannot win this game in 10 minutes. It needs 90, 95 minutes.”

The boss also praised Mendy’s calm assured strike for what was his second goal of the season.

“It was a great finish,” Guardiola added.
