In a 6-3 thriller at the Etihad Stadium, the England winger’s goal - which made it 4-2 - was perhaps the pick of the bunch as he effortlessly cut on his right foot before curling an unstoppable drive past the despairing dive of Peter Gulacsi.
The 26-year-old’s solo effort capped off a man of the match display from the left flank, with one of his searching corners also headed home for the game’s opening goal by Nathan Ake.
Reflecting on his performance, the City boss has backed Grealish to hit even headier heights as he continues to find his feet at the Club.
“Yeah, hopefully it can be the first of many!” the boss beamed when asked about the winger’s debut Champions League strike.
“I have the feeling that every day he is playing better, and I am pretty sure he will be better in the future.
