Pep Guardiola said the aggression of Jack Grealish almost helped to rescue City in their 1-0 defeat to Spurs.

The winger was a menace down the left-hand side as we tried to get back into the game at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium following Harry Kane’s first-half strike.

Grealish was the most fouled player in the game and drew a second yellow card from Cristian Romero as he took the game to Tottenham in the second half.

“[He was] so aggressive, so committed and had the chances for assists,” the City boss said.

“A lot of interruptions as well, but his mentality and aggression to do it, it was good.”

But defeat continued our bad run of form at the stadium where we have lost on all five visits without scoring a goal.

“They are a team that defends really well,” Guardiola said. “We created in the beginning they defend with nine players really well.

“The team is fantastic, the squad they have is fantastic. It is not easy but they have enough to score goals.

“Always I have the feeling that we play well against them but for one reason or another we are unable to score and are not able to win.”
