Pep Guardiola heaped praise on ‘incredible’ evergreen midfield star Fernandinho after another outstanding display from the skipper in Saturday’s 4-0 win at Norwich.

The Brazilian once again belied his 36 years with a display that demonstrated his supreme football intelligence with his trademark skill, tactical awareness and all-round game management coalescing to superb effect.

Though hat-trick star Raheem Sterling took the man of the match award, Guardiola was also quick to shine a light on Fernandinho’s immense contribution as City moved 12 points clear at the top of the Premier League.

“I said many times what an incredible captain he is. On and off the pitch he helps the team a lot,” said the City manager after our Carrow Road success.
