Pep Guardiola says City's recruitment in recent seasons is helping the Club build for the long-term future.

But the recruitment of new, young talent hasn’t stopped City from also assembling the perfect blend that has also allowed us mount a sustained push for the Premier League title.

Guardiola’s refined and new-look City have already won silverware this season, beating Arsenal 2-0 to lift the Carabao Cup at Wemble.

That represented a first City trophy for the likes of Rayan Cherki, Antione Semenyo and Abdukodir Khusanov.

Now, heading into Sunday’s trip to Chelsea, our attention is on the top-flight with City lying nine points behind leaders Arsenal but with two games in hand over the Gunners.

We take on Liam Rosenior’s side at 16:30 (UK) on Sunday 12 April, with our usual matchday coverage available on mancity.com and the Official Man City App.

And with just eight league games left, every match is now a must-win affair for Guardiola’s side who also entertain Arsenal next weekend.

“We have to win every single game, we know what we have to do to win it [the title],” said Guardiola in his pre-match press conference.

“But that doesn’t define the Premier League, there are 11 months, and we find a way to win games when playing bad.

“We haven’t been the best but it’s a lot of new things, new players.

“Right now we’re building for the future to be ready to be closer or at least continue to fight for the Premier League.”
