Pep Guardiola believes City’s FIFA Club World Cup triumph in December came at the perfect time to fuel our Premier League title bid.

The Blues won the tournament in our maiden appearance thanks to a last-four win over Urawa Red Diamonds and a 4-0 final success against Fluminense.

We haven’t tasted defeat in the league since returning victorious from Saudi Arabia and have won 15 of our 18 assignments as we relentlessly pursue a record fourth straight crown.

Starting with a trip to Fulham on Saturday, the Blues know a 100% record in our three remaining outings will secure the trophy.

And the boss says City will give our all to become Premier League champions once again before the curtain falls on the term.

“Winning the World Cup helped us especially when we came back after two or three days,” he explained.

“We went to Goodison Park where it is always difficult. And the way we performed after being 1-0 down, these guys still we can rely on them. And we can do it.

“Here we are one week left to finish the Premier League. Three games to give all we have in our bones to perform the first one at 12.30 on a sunny day in London.

“Last season the grass was so so dry. We have to adapt and we talked about that. We have to adapt like we did in Nottingham and fly back with three points.”
