Pep Guardiola says City’s preparations will be focused on ourselves in the build-up to our Premier League meeting with Chelsea.

The Blues host the Londoners at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday 4 January, with kick-off scheduled for 17:30 (UK).

It comes just three days after our stalemate at Sunderland amid the busy festive schedule, meanwhile, Chelsea enter the match following a 2-2 with Bournemouth in their last assignment.

Since then, though, and ahead of the clash in Manchester, they have parted company with former boss Enzo Maresca.

But regardless of who is in the opposition dugout this weekend, Guardiola is expecting a difficult assignment as we bid to return to winning ways this weekend.

“Don’t talk much if you don’t know what’s going to happen the opponent, because the manager, I don’t know which manager will be sitting there and I’m going to do like I don’t know what’s going to happen,” he said.

“No concern. Just think about yourself, what do you have to do with our people who are going to help us and two tough games. Like this, Chelsea and Brighton.

“It has always been a dangerous game against Chelsea. Really good. The Premier League is dangerous every game.”
