Since the Catalan’s arrival in the summer of 2016, we have lifted 16 honours including the Big Five of the Champions League, Premier League, FA Cup, Super Cup and Club World Cup in 2023.
As part of The Treble Trophy Tour, presented by OKX, our quintet of cups are currently visiting supporters in Brazil following stops in other countries such as the USA, India and China.
And the boss hopes his illustrious seven and a half years at the Etihad Stadium has attracted the next generation of City fans around the globe.
“It’s not just the trophies, of course the brand is worldwide,” he explained.
“We were not a worldwide brand 20 years ago, but more in the UK. But now all the clubs get supporters and people follow us, better sponsors and show in other counties, India, everywhere, adjust to what we are and the way we’ve done.
“Hopefully the people are happy and can follow us. We might not have as many as other clubs but maybe that helps with the young people.
“They support us and when you get this support at early age it remains for the rest of your life.
“Always they’ll be there, you change many things in your life but your team is always there. Maybe in 10 years we’ll see lots of City fans from this decade we did here. It’s part of the process to grow as a club.”
Across January, City Football Group sister club Bahia are hosting a pre-season training camp at the CFA as they prepare for the 2024 Brazilian Serie A campaign.
Led by iconic former Brazil international goalkeeper Rogerio Ceni, his squad linked up with Guardiola’s team ahead of respective training sessions upon their arrival in Manchester.
And the boss has described meeting the Bahia’s manager as an ‘honour’.
Guardiola added: “It’s nice. Part of CFG and the Club is a little focused to help in the way they can. Ideas, suggestions and Rogerio (Ceni) has done a good job.
[It’s] nice to have him here, maybe in the summer instead but hopefully they can invite us to go to Brazil in the future.
“He [Ceni] is a legend, what he did as a keeper not just saving goals, how many he scored, it was an honour for me to meet him.”
