Pep Guardiola believes Ilkay Gundogan's Premier League Player of the Month award for January is 'well deserved' after an impressive recent run of form.
Guardiola, who himself swooped January’s Premier League Manager of the Month award, was full of praise for the midfielder ahead of Saturday’s league clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Gundogan played an instrumental role in a hugely successful January for City, scoring five goals from midfield, and his manager believes the German international is more than deserving of the accolade.
“It is well deserved. I am happy for him, it’s the first time [winning the award],” said Guardiola.
“He has lots of goals, minutes and good actions. It is more than well deserved.”
