Pep Guardiola says his players know exactly what is needed to beat Inter in the Champions League.

The City boss accepts the Serie A side will be ‘incredibly difficult’ to beat - but says his team will be ready for the challenge.

Asked if he would use the Champions League final defeat to Chelsea as a motivation, Pep said: “I don’t know. I didn’t speak to the players about it - some were there, some not.

“We want to finish differently this time. But we have to know exactly what we have to do to beat this opponent in terms of approach, with and without the ball we have to be focused.”

Guardiola was also asked whether being the bookmakers’ favourites to win would be a problem against Inter – but he said that tag would be nothing new for his players.

“We are used to it,” he said.

“Why should be more dangerous if we are favourites or not favourites?

“It’s what we do in 95 minutes. I accept the role and we go out there and try.

“We accept what people say, no problem at all.”
