Pep Guardiola has praised Jack Grealish’s performance in City’s 1-0 Premier League win over Wolves.

The England winger has started each of our last three matches having recovered from an injury sustained on international duty.

Before being replaced by Kevin De Bruyne late on against Wolves, Grealish had more than played his part in a hard-fought win for Guardiola’s men, with Raheem Sterling’s second half penalty proving the difference.

And while those efforts might not have transferred into a goal or assist, the City boss said he was impressed by the 25-year-old’s performance against a well-drilled Wolves side.

“Jack, especially in the second half, played a really good game. One day he will get some luck and score,” Guardiola said.

“His decision making is always really good and in the final third he needs to do it, but it will come.

“When you play against nine, ten players in the box, when one team doesn’t want to play, just long balls and don’t press, just shift across, it is always so difficult.

“We knew it. In the past we suffered it and they have quality players who can make the difference. It is always difficult against them.”
