Pep Guardiola has called on his players to focus their mind on the task at hand in Saturday's FA Cup semi-final with Sheffield United.

The Wembley fixture comes in the middle of an intense run of fixtures including both legs of our Champions League quarter-final with Bayern Munich and just four days ahead of a Premier League clash with leaders Arsenal.

Speaking in his press conference on Friday, the boss insisted he wouldn’t put his side through a strenuous training session ahead of the game.

Instead, he would prefer to focus on ensuring the players are mentally prepared for another gruelling challenge this weekend.

“Today we don’t do anything,” he said earlier this afternoon.

“We’re going to go out, take a breather but of course we can’t train. I’m not the type of manager to say we have to train.

“I prefer to keep the energy as much as possible for the game. Controlling the fatigue is in the mind, if you have positive thoughts you’re not tired.”
