City boss Pep Guardiola has expressed his side won't be dwelling on records or past achievements as we face another Wembley outing.

City face Championship side Southampton Gunners on Saturday at Wembley Stadium with kick-off set for 17:15 (UK) as we look to progress to another FA Cup Final.

Guardiola’s side will be hoping to continue a perfect April which has seen impressive victories over Liverpool in the FA Cup quarter-final and in the Premier League against Chelsea, Arsenal and Burnley.

Meanwhile, the Saints will be aiming to continue their 20 game unbeaten run across all competitions.

Our opponents currently sit fourth in the second tier following a remarkable turnaround under Tonda Eckert, who has lead them from one place above the relegation zone to fighting for automatic promotion.

The City boss is looking forward to another Wembley encounter, but says his team won’t be focusing on FA Cup records.

“Living day by day,” Pep said.

“Records show how fine we have been but not how we will be.

“I don’t wake up in the morning thinking about it.

“It happens and now we have the opportunity to play at Wembley again in the semi finals and will try to reach the final.

“They [the team] are happy,” he added.

“The guys don’t complain much and now we are just focused on the game tomorrow and what we have to do.

“How we recover with the players after two demanding games.

“The cup semi-final is tough.”
