Pep Guardiola says City’s 2021/22 fate is entirely in our own hands.

As we enter the ‘business end’ of the season, the Premier League Champions are still challenging in three competitions: the league, FA Cup and Champions League.

And Guardiola says the players need no added motivation for the silverware on offer.

“In the Premier League right now, we are leading,” he said, previewing Sunday’s FA Cup trip to Southampton. “Right now, today, the destiny is in our hands.

“There are less games [in the FA Cup to play] but I don’t count [the number of games in] competitions.

“I know how difficult Southampton away will be. We have to prepare, travel well and compete well and go forward.

“I would love to do what we have done so far. [We have to focus on the] details we will play against Southampton - they shape and move differently like Crystal Palace and you have to adapt to the movement they do.

“Like I said before: in the last two months, we know every game is a Final now – in the Premier League of course, and the Champions League and Sunday.

“We have to be ourselves and to every player, be yourself.”
