Pep Guardiola has described last season as one of the best he’s ever experienced ahead of this Sunday’s 2021-22 curtain-raiser away to Tottenham.

City go into the campaign as defending Premier League and Carabao Cup champions, and also reached a maiden Champions League final during one of our most memorable campaigns in recent memory.

And after a much-needed rest period, Guardiola’s men are ready to hit the ground running once again when we travel down to the capital this weekend for a 16:30 (UK) kick-off.

Reflecting on his summer break rest and the 2020-21 campaign as a whole, Guardiola insisted our exploits are something that he’ll never forget.

“It was unbelievable. It was great,” the City boss declared.

“It was an exceptional season, disappointed of course for losing the (Champions League) final but after one or few days when you are with your family you think how good it was.

“Among many things, how few injuries we have, always I believe when you have few injuries it’s because the medical department and physios as well as players want to be a part of it.
