Pep Guardiola says his players have been buoyed by our recent 10-game winning streak across all competitions.

City have been in superb form, winning every game we’ve played since the 1-1 draw with West Brom in the Premier League on December 15 and conceding just three goals in the process.

It’s a run of victories that have seen us move up to second in the Premier League table, qualify for the fifth round of the FA Cup and move through to a fourth-successive Carabao Cup final.

And ahead of our game against West Brom, who we face in the return fixture at The Hawthorns on Tuesday evening, Guardiola says the positive effects of such a sustained run are clear to see.

“The results give you an incredible confidence boost,” he said.

“Do results make you play good or does playing good make you gets results? Both are connected.

“But we are in January. We play West Brom and we see what they have done and we try to make a good game and get another victory.”

City are currently two points behind leaders Manchester United, but we still have a game in hand in what is turning into one of the closest battles for supremacy in recent Premier League history.

Indeed, the top of the table has rarely had such a condensed look to it, with the top seven separated by just eight points.

Guardiola says he is unconcerned by the table, with his focus on ensuring we remain take things one game at a time.

“The leader is United. They are top of the league,” he said.

“When we have played the same games, we will see.

“But the distance between top teams is so narrow.

“I don’t watch the table much. I didn’t when we were 12th, eight points behind. Now is the same.”
