Pep Guardiola says City’s remarkable, record-breaking run of 20 consecutive wins would not have been possible without the spirit of togetherness running throughout the squad.

Saturday’s hard-fought 2-1 win over West Ham was the merely the latest manifestation of the collective desire and purpose demonstrated by Pep’s players in this most challenging of seasons.

And asked how important he felt it was to have a close squad, the boss said that our incredible run of form which has seen City re-write English top-flight history was all down to that tight spirit forged in the dressing room.

“Yeah, this cannot happen if the relations are bad,” Guardiola asserted.

“Everyone wants to play. One day they will be managers and they will see that it’s because we have to handle it that way.

“They have incredible relations, everyone makes contributions off the pitch and that’s why we have good results.”
