Still only 23, Foden has raced to the 50-mark from just 160 appearances and quickly set about bringing up a century by adding a second eight minutes later against the Seagulls.
This season has been his best for goals with 16 in the Premier League including hat-tricks against Brentford and Aston Villa to add his memorable treble against Manchester United in the derby last season.
