Manchester City man Phil Foden came off the bench as England beat Iran 6-2 in the opening Group B game of the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The 2022/23 season has already been a memorable one for the City youngster so far. 

Having signed a three-year contract extension in October, City fans can look forward to many more years of Foden in a blue shirt.

The winger has hit the ground running this campaign which has seen him find the net eight times in all competitions.

Three of those came in a memorable 6-3 victory over rivals Manchester United at the Etihad Stadium, his first-ever goals in a Manchester derby.

He has also scored some vital goals for the Blues over the years, one of the most notable came at Anfield, as he drilled a left-footed shot into the bottom-right corner of Alisson’s goal in a 2-2 draw against Liverpool.

But Foden is not just a goalscorer, his all-round play has seen him register three assists in the Premier League so far with one of those teeing Erling Haaland up to score his first goal at the Etihad.
