Phil Foden says he’s delighted to surpass 50 Premier League goals following his double in our strong 4-0 win at Brighton.

After Kevin De Bruyne broke the deadlock with a superb header on 17 minutes, the England international racked up his half century in the top flight with a free-kick which found the net via a deflection.

During a scintillating first-half display by the visitors in East Sussex, our Academy graduate then raised his tally to 51 league goals and extended our lead further with a precise, fizzing effort.

It’s the latest highlight in the 23-year-old’s superb season so far and an immense source of pride for Foden.

“It’s a great milestone to reach,” he declared.

“I’m really delighted at the moment with the position I’m playing and I keep finding the back of the net for the team.

“I keep wanting to trying to do that because when I find the net we seem to go and win games.

“I’m delighted with the way we’re playing and there are six matches left, so six more finals to go and I just want to help the team.

“I’m delighted to see the team win today and help with two goals.”
