A convincing win over Sporting Kansas City is next in our list as we countdown ten of the best pre-season games in Manchester City’s recent history.
Bruno Zuculini, Dedryk Boyata, Aleksandr Kolarov and Kelechi Iheanacho got the goals as the 2014 Premier League winners beat the 2014 MLS champions.
Zuculini opened the scoring inside two minutes with an 18-yard volley which clipped the inside of the post but CJ Sapong levelled for the hosts with a composed finish on the half hour mark.
Boyata restored City’s lead with a powerful header before half-time and Manuel Pellegrini’s side extended the advantage when Kolarov fired home a penalty after Michael Kafari scythed down Scott Sinclair.
Iheanacho, then only 17, picked out the bottom corner from the edge of the area to complete the scoring two minutes from time.
