Follow Rayan Cherki for the day as he chats about life at City and recreates his famous rabona assist.

The Frenchman has quickly become a fan favourite at the Etihad since his summer move from Lyon, and we documented his afternoon on a recent media day, speaking to him between different shoots.

That included some fun basketball, board game and golf challenges, a two-player teamwork game with Marcus Bettinelli, and a look at his favourite City shirts.

During down time between those different activities Rayan chats about a recent trip back to Lyon, where he visited a children’s hospital, and also how he’s found life in the Premier League so far.

The France international has adapted quickly to his new surroundings and has already grabbed ten assists in the top flight, placing him second in the overall charts.

Unquestionably, the pick of the bunch came in City’s 3-0 win over Sunderland in December 2025, when Cherki’s audacious rabona cross set up Phil Foden for the game’s final goal.

Foden’s reaction, pointing at Cherki and puffing his cheeks in disbelief shows just how special a piece of skill it was.

And Rayan recreated that incredible moment when visiting a session with some young players from Korea later that day, having reminisced about his previous encounter with the Blues in a UEFA Youth League clash at the Joie Stadium in 2018.
