Rayan Cherki says he’s thrilled about the prospect of playing alongside City’s numerous attacking talents after finalising his move to the Club. 

The 21-year-old creative midfielder has signed a five-year deal at the Etihad and will join Pep Guardiola’s squad for the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup. 

It’s the latest step in an exceptional career to date for the youngster, having played 185 times for boyhood side Lyon and registered his senior France debut last week.

Now, he’ll line up alongside the likes of Erling Haaland, Omar Marmoush and Phil Foden as we seek to add yet more silverware to a magnificent haul under the guidance of Guardiola. 

Speaking in his first interview as a City player, Cherki was thrilled about the stars he can now call team-mates. 

“There are very good players, some of the best players in the world,” he said. 

“I am here to take the ball and take the pleasure with my team-mates and give pleasure for the world, to the club and for the fans.”
