We face the defending European champions in the second leg of our play-off clash at the Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday, knowing we’ll need to overturn last week’s 3-2 defeat at the Etihad.
This clash is the latest in a long line of epic battles between the two sides, with four two-legged ties in the last five seasons.
City progressed in two of the previous encounters, with Real prevailing in the others and the winner of this clash in each of the last three years has gone on to lift the trophy.
MATCH PREVIEW | REAL MADRID V CITY
With the world watching as two of Europe’s heavyweights face each other again, Guardiola said City have to face the challenge head on.
“At this level against this team, no matter the stage, the pressure is there. It is more than welcome,” he said.
“We have to perform well without the pressure on it depends how we play, how we handle the moments in the big stadiums, here, Barcelona, Milan and Anfield.
“Always the bad moments will be there. You have to suffer in some moments.”
