The Italian shot-stopper was a huge part of PSG’s first ever triumph in the competition last season and believes the Blues can progress far this season.
But he has learned that everything matters – as the nature of the Champions League will punish mistakes.
“There are some teams that can make it to the finals and that’s what happens in the Champions League, there are many tough teams,” said Gigio.
“If we speak about last season, nobody thought that PSG could be a strong candidate to win the final, but things can change.
“It depends on timing and how fit the team is. I think we need to be able to manage some situations possible and now we are about to play games where you are in or out, so we need to manage it properly.
“We can make less mistakes because every single detail could make the difference.
“In the Champions League, details are everything. How able you are to make as few mistakes as possible.
“We will try to make it to end but there are very strong teams that will do the same.”
