Pep Guardiola says he couldn’t be happier with Rico Lewis’ progress.
The Academy graduate gave yet another excellent performance in the Champions League and was a candidate for man of the match in the 3-2 win over Red Star Belgrade.
The City boss says the teenager never lets him down and that his versatility is his main strength.
“He’s just 19 years old last month,” said Pep.
“It’s incredible that he is always seven or eight out of 10.
“Always his ability is unbelievable, he can play in multiple positions, left, right and centre and in the pockets and defensively he is so good.
“We are not scared when we ask him to play.
“Mateo and Matheus have something we don’t have, too. They are special players and it’s important they are back for our future.”
