Pep Guardiola says he is looking forward to freshening up the side for tomorrow’s Champions League clash with Red Star Belgrade - but insists his team are there to win!

The boss revealed he’s ‘pleased’ to be able to select and watch some of the players who’ve not featured as much of late.

But, despite already qualifying for the knockout stages, he stressed the importance of preparing professionally for Wednesday’s 17:45 (UK) kick-off and targeting all three points to maintain our 100% record in Group G.

“No, we prepare the game and analyse the opponent to try and win the game,” said the boss when asked about whether the match offered him a chance to experiment.

“We’re going to rotate some players because we have three days, travel five or six hours, three days, a semi and potentially a final.

“I’m very pleased tomorrow to see many players who didn’t play lately to be involved in the team. Absolutely, I’m very pleased.

“[We find motivation] in the same way. The manager and players have to perform.

“Prepare the game like the first one in Manchester the same way.

“This morning we prepared really well, we travel, we have meetings and hopefully we can have a good game.

“It’s a question of trying to do the game, perform well and we prepare the game of course to win it.”
