Following another sensational individual season from the classy midfielder in 2023/24, he is one of four Club nominees for the men’s award – meanwhile we have three shortlisted for the women’s prize.
The Spain international played 50 times for Pep Guardiola’s side last season, scoring nine goals and registering 14 assists as we lifted a fourth straight Premier League crown.
What’s more, he then helped La Roja to European Championship glory in Germany – featuring six times at the summer’s major tournament.
In total, he’s made 260 appearances for the Club since his summer 2019 arrival and has lifted 11 trophies in total so far.
Before he made the switch to England, he plied his trade for Atletico Madrid and Villarreal, but at first spent time in Rayo Majadahonda’s youth system.
And in the video player above, we hear from Rodrigo’s former coach Armando de la Morena and team-mate Miguel Zarate who reveal what he was like from an early age and how they’ve mapped his progression since his time at the club.
Watch that and more in video player above!
