Rodri says he can’t wait to share his Ballon d’Or triumph with Manchester City supporters upon his return to the Etihad Stadium tomorrow.

The combative and classy midfielder will be showcasing his prestigious award to the crowd ahead of Pep Guardiola’s side’s Premier League clash with Spurs on Saturday just before the 17:30 (UK) kick-off.

Following a spectacular season domestically and internationally, the Spaniard was voted the world’s best player by a panel of journalists from the 100-top ranking nations.

It followed his crucial role in City winning a historic fourth straight English top-flight title in 2023/24 before his precious displays helped Spain to Euro 2024 glory this summer which also earned him the Player of the Tournament prize.

And Rodri says he’s relishing the chance to show gratitude to the supporters who he says have shown him love from his first day at the Club.

“What can I say? The first City player to win it and on Saturday I will be with them and I will enjoy this with them,” he declared.

“I felt their love everyday and they love, they want me to show them and it will be a great moment for me on Saturday to share with them.

“Because we are a family and from the first minute I joined this Club they showed me their love.”
