City midfielder Rodrigo believes the close bond between him and his teammates is a key reason behind their incredible run of form.

Pep Guardiola’s men reached another milestone on Saturday, with the hard-fought 2-1 triumph over West Ham our 20th consecutive win in all competitions.

And Rodrigo is not surprised by this success given the tight-knit relationship between the players.

He said: “I’m in an unbelievable team with unbelievable human beings.

“There’s an amazing environment in the team, we’re all friends and it’s like a family.

“I enjoy playing with all of them, each one with his personalty and his skills, I learn about everyone.”

Within that amazing 20-game winning run are 14 straight Premier League victories.

And, to add further weight to that feat, City have not trailed for a single minute during that time.

But Rodrigo insists he and the players are well aware that, if they want to maintain that record, they need to be at concert pitch every time they step over the white line.

“Football is very tough and the differences are so tiny that you have to do your best.

“There’s only one team that wins the trophy and 19 that don’t, it’s very tough so I always say ‘don’t drop it guys, keep going’.

“We’re doing an amazing thing but only with the work and focus we can continue with this.”
