Rodrigo declared that City would come back even stronger in the wake of Sunday’s battling 1-1 draw with Liverpool at the Etihad.

In a pulsating encounter, the visitors struck first through Mo Salah’s penalty before a brilliant Gabriel Jesus strike levelled affairs.

Kevin De Bruyne had the chance to give us the lead but was off target with a first half penalty with both sides eventually settling for a point.

But as he reflected on the game, Rodrigo said there were numerous positives to take.

“We are a bit disappointed that we didn’t win but we’re happy with the we came back and I think that we defended their counter-attacks quite well,” said the Spanish midfielder.

“This should be one the greatest games in the world - of course its so tight with the quality.

“But there is a long way to go in the season – we have one game less and we will come back stronger (after the international break).”
