City Studios sat down with Ruben Dias to dissect his first season at the Club back in 2020.

In 2020/21, Ruben won multiple awards and the Premier League title - but what were his standout moments?

Tracing back from the moment he arrived in Manchester - complete with COVID facemask - and onto a first interview that he doesn’t recall, Ruben remembers a first campaign played in front of empty stadiums with pandemic restrictions still in place.

“To be a good defender, you have to be able to defend,” says Dias as he explains  his all or nothing attitude on the pitch.

There’s also an explanation behind adjusting the ‘draught excluder’ that was Oleks Zinchenko at Anfield.

Winning the Carabao Cup, then Premier League as well as appearing in the Champions League final, Dias would go on to be voted the Football Writer’s Association Player of the Year along with a plethora of other important individual honours.

Quite a first year for our Portuguese defensive rock!
