Today marks the fourth anniversary of a special moment in City’s history – the night Sergio Aguero became our all-time record scorer.

When Kun rifled home a superb strike at the Stadio San Paolo not only put us 3-2 ahead on the night but also saw Aguero become our all-time record scorer.

It was Aguero’s 178th strike for the Club and saw the Argentine master marksman overtake Eric Brook to carve his name once more into City folklore with Pep Guardiola‘s side eventually winning 4-2.

“I knew that by scoring one goal I would become the Club’s all-time goal-scorer,” said Aguero reflecting on the special moment.

“The atmosphere was great, Napoli supporters were pushing really hard and it was beautiful, but at the same time I knew that the game was going to be tough. Obviously, I didn’t know I was going to score, but I tried until I got it.

“I had very clear idea that I wanted to put the ball in the bottom corner, just inside the post.

“The goal was beautiful; I just had broken the record. That was a fantastic night.

“Destiny wanted me to score it – it is a great memory and I night I will never forget.”
