The story of one of the greatest comebacks in FA Cup history is told in a new documentary now available to watch on CITY+.

Manchester City are no stranger to dramatic fightbacks – Wembley 1999 and 93:20 are the most glorious evidence of that – but the events of 4 February 2004 were equally as remarkable as Kevin Keegan’s side snatched victory from the jaws of defeat.

Spurs 3-4 City: Greatest FA Cup comeback launches in the coming weeks and recounts the fourth-round replay when 10-man City staged the unlikeliest of fightbacks to overturn a 3-0 half-time deficit at White Hart Lane.

Having drawn 1-1 at home in the initial tie, Keegan’s men got off to the worse possible start when Ledley King curled Spurs in front after two minutes.

Robbie Keane poked home to double their advantage before Christian Ziege rifled in a brilliant 25-yard free-kick and it got worse for City when Joey Barton picked up a second yellow card for dissent as he left the pitch for half-time.

A Sylvain Distin header pulled one back three minutes after the break, before Paul Bosvelt’s deflected volley gave the 10 men hope and that hope was realised when Shaun Wright-Phillips chipped Kasey Keller to equalise.

Substitute Jon Macken then headed in a 90th minute winner to seal a win that seemed impossible 45-minutes earlier.

In the latest documentary from City Studios, we hear from Wright-Phillips, Macken, Michael Brown – who was playing for Spurs at the time – and Ledley King, as well as several fans and journalists.
