Pep Guardiola says he believes several of his City players will resume Premier League duty this weekend on a high after shining for their countries during the November international break.

Winger Ferran Torres led the way with a hat-trick for Spain in their 6-0 Nations League defeat of Germany while Phil Foden bagged a brace for England in the Three Lions’ 4-0 win over Iceland.

Central defender Ruben Dias also got in on the scoring act too, claiming two goals for their Portugal in their 3-2 victory over Croatia.

“It’s nice. They played good for the national team,” declared Guardiola as he looked ahead to Saturday’s Premier League trip to Tottenham.

“I know how important it is for the players to play good for the country they love. Ferran made a good performance, Ruben scored two and Phil too.

“I am so pleased he is back with the national team playing at a high level. All the players played good.”
