First-half goals from Julian Alvarez and Erling Haaland were enough for Pep Guardiola’s side to return to winning ways in a 2-1 success over the Seagulls at the Etihad Stadium.
But before there were jubilant scenes on the pitch, there was time for an entertaining game off it before the first ball was kicked in Manchester.
Alongside host Cel Spellman, former City players Steve Howey and Paul Dickov were joined by MMA champion fighter Dakota Ditcheva in the studio.
Acting as quiz-master, Spellman challenged the trio of special guests to a game of ‘higher or lower’ where he tasked them with answering whether certain players had scored more or fewer headers than the figures before them.
Among those in the line-up was Howey himself – which produced a comical reaction from the former central defender when it was ‘revealed’ he had only scored seven headed goals across his entire career.
What’s more, Dickov supplies a funny reaction to his own heading ‘stats’!
