John Stones has paid special tribute to the City fans for their support towards him following our impressive 4-1 Premier League victory over Arsenal.

The defender’s name was echoing around the Etihad Stadium after he doubled our lead shortly before the interval with a superb header, after Kevin De Bruyne‘s early opener.

Further goals from De Bruyne and Erling Haaland secured the three points and propelled us to within two points of the Gunners, with two games still in hand.

Stones, who was overjoyed with the victory, was also thankful to the City fans for their unwavering support for him.

“It’s touching, it really is touching to hear that song and people singing it for me,” he said.

“This is my home and probably always will be, from the moment I came. To hear the fans singing my name, I think there’s mutual love between us.

“It really touches me and I always try and make sure that our fans know that I appreciate what they do, not just for me but for everyone and they get behind us on big occasions like this.

“I try to do them proud and produce for them, and little goals and days like today, I’m sure they go home very happy.”

The defender also spoke about the deadly duo De Bruyne and Haaland, touched on his goal and spoke about remaining grounded ahead of the title run in.
