John Stones has expressed his pride after City were crowned as Champions League Group G winners with a 0-0 draw against Borussia Dortmund.

The point secures top spot for Pep Guardiola‘s side with one game to spare, as we now have 11 points from five matches, three more than second placed Borussia Dortmund.

City’s head-to-head record against the German team means that no matter the result in the final group games, we cannot be overtaken.

We’ll be competing in the last 16 of the competition for the tenth consecutive season and Stones admitted the team’s consistency is a huge positive for the club.

“I think topping the group is always our goal from the start of the season. A lot of tough teams in the group as well.

“To keep recreating that and topping the group, getting through to the next stage is massive for us as a club and a team. It’s really a happy dressing room after the game.

“It’s not easy to do. It’s something I’m extremely proud of and the lads are as well. To do it with one game to go is something special.”
