The latest City Studios production charts the highs and lows of Eriksson’s brief reign, with contributions from fans, former players such as Nedum Onuoha and Elano, as well as the man himself.

Appointed in the summer of 2007, the former England manager was considered something of a coup for a City side who had finished 14th in the Premier League the season before.

After signing a host of continental talent, he made a flying start to put City third in the Premier League by November, but results trailed off in the second half of the campaign, culminating in an 8-1 defeat to Middlesbrough on the final day and he was sacked by former owner Thaksin Shinawatra in June 2008.

Nonetheless, Eriksson proved to be a popular figure with players and fans alike, who remember the 2007-08 season fondly.

That story will be retold in The Sven Year and you can watch the trailer above to get a flavour of what to expect.
