The Korean opened the scoring after five minutes, slotting between Ederson’s legs after Tanguy Ndombele lofted a pass over the City defence and Lo Celso netted the second with a low strike just 35 seconds after he was sent on as a second half substitute.
City had an Aymeric Laporte goal disallowed with the score at 1-0 after VAR determined Gabriel Jesus had committed a handball in the build and despite showing more attacking intent for much of the contest, we were unable break down Spurs’ resolute defence.
