A short clip from today’s session at the CFA, where the players showed off their close control in a kick-up drill.

City continue our preparations for the new season with the visit of Barnsley to the Academy Stadium on Saturday 31 July, with the game due to kick-off at 6pm (UK).

Ahead of the Tykes’ visit, the players took part in a small exercise designed to tune up their first touch and technical ability.

Each of our City stars was tasked with keeping the ball in the air until reaching a set of cones, where they would offload possession to a teammate.

Once they had the ball under their spell, they would repeat the process, honing the vital close control needed at the top level.

Given the incredible quality that each and every one of Pep Guardiola’s men possesses, it’s no surprise that there were some impressive flicks and tricks on show.
