A change into brand new kits for each team at half-time, in aid of City and Milan for Change, added a new layer of excitement to proceedings, with James McAtee heading home an equaliser for City inside ten minutes of the restart.
But the Italians would have the final say, with substitute Marco Nasti firing home the winner with just over ten minutes to play.
