The 34-year-old midfielder joined City in 2010 and has been a key figure in our recent success, with many fans steadfast in their view he is now the Club’s greatest player of all time.
During his decade in Manchester, he has won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and five League Cups.
He scored a wonderful free-kick and set up another two in our 5-0 win over Newcastle on Wednesday – meaning he has now scored 76 goals and registered 121 assists for City.
He will depart at the end of the current season when his contract expires, leaving us with a significant void to fill but with some incredible memories.
And speaking on our We’re Not Really Here live show, Begiristain waxed lyrical about Silva, a player he feels has helped turn us into one of Europe’s best teams.
“He’s been unbelievable in football - especially here,” Begiristain said. “He’s spent 10 wonderful years, winning trophies and changing the dynamic of the club.
“He’s been one of the leaders – with Vincent [Kompany], with Yaya [Toure] and Kun [Aguero]. No one will forget what they’ve done.
“Not only the way David plays football but helping us be a successful club.
“He will always be remembered because of that.”

Meanwhile, our Director of Football also took time out to praise Gabriel Jesus.
The City striker scored a fine one-touch finish to set us on our way to victory over Steve Bruce’s side, finishing off a flowing move.
It brought to an end a nine-game run without a goal - and Begiristain was clearly delighted for the Brazilian.
“His work rate, he’s unbelievable,” Begiristain said. “He helps a lot by creating space for the midfielders.
“He’s the number nine and he likes to score and today he could.
“We are always happy with the work rate.”
