The Spanish midfielder will depart the Club at the end of the season having won four Premier League titles, two FA Cups and five League Cups, added to the World Cup and two European Championships he has collected with Spain.
The one notable major trophy missing from his impressive collection is the Champions League, but he has one last chance to win it with City.
We face Real Madrid in two weeks’ time as we look to book our place in the knock-out phase in Portugal – and Begiristain says it would be a fitting end to his time in Manchester if he wins Europe’s premier prize.
“He deserves it for his career,” he said during our We’re Not Really Here live matchday show. “He has been winning leagues, cups, World Cups, Euros. We want to try to help him win the Champions League.
“It will be the best way to say goodbye. And also the best way for him to say thank you to the City supporters and the club.”

Meanwhile, Begiristain admits City are looking to making additions to the squad this summer.
The transfer window officially opens on Monday, with English clubs given 10 weeks to buy and sell players ahead of the 2020-21 season.
But with the Champions League and Europa League still to be finalised, Begiristain feels it could be a difficult window to complete business.
“Yeah we are working a lot,” he said. “We have to be always ready.
“It could be a strange transfer window because players have to move first. We need players who can improve our squad but also players could leave.
“It’s going to be strange because we have Champions League so we have to wait until that finishes so maybe we have less time than ever.”
